It all started when the Montreux Jazz Festival was born in 1967 in Montreux. Stay with us and experience the incomparable natural beauty of Lake Geneva and the mountains from the comfort of your room. All our 154 rooms over 16 floors come with breathtaking, ever-changing views of Montreux and its surroundings. And as a guest, you also get direct access to the lake you see from your window. One room. Vast views. Countless things to do.
All things Montreux, all in one place
All things Montreux, all in one place
All things Montreux, all in one place
We open our doors for the first time just before the first Montreux Jazz Festival! Back then, we're still called Eurotel Riviera and are the only hotel in Montreux to have an indoor swimming pool.
1967
"co-ownership of studios, a new concept developed by Eurotel Montreux.
At the time, the biggest expenses for hoteliers were interest and the amortisation of the cost of the building. If the cost of the property and installations were reimbursed thanks to the sale of the hotel's studios on a co-ownership basis, the financial risk would be minimal. It's also a way of combating the trend to buy flats, holiday chalets and other hotel-derived systems."
1971
The Montreux Jazz Festival moves to the Montreux Music & Convention Centre (2m2c) – and closer to us! Here, it opens two emblematic venues: The Stravinski Auditorium and the Miles Davis Hall. The 90's sees a gradual expansion of the festival along the Montreux waterfront, offering festival-goers numerous free concerts. It's also during this period that the Montreux Jazz Café opens.
1993
After his death on November 24th, Montreux pays tribute to Freddie Mercruy by erecting a 3 meter statue at the end of the Place du Marché, directly on the lake shore. His gaze is now eternaly turned towards the lake and the mountains, the earthly paradise he so cherished.
1996
Karlheinz and Elisabeth Lukey retire after 36 years at the head of the management of the Eurotel Riviera. Mr Lindt takes over for one year before Mr Bettex continues in his stead until 2012.
2003
The Salle Piccard is renovated and its new name revealed by none other than its namesake, Mr Jacques Piccard, the famous adventurer and scientist.
2008
Mr Jacques Bettex retires and we welcome Mr Stéphane Compagnon as the manager of the Eurotel Montreux.
2012
We renovate and rename the restaurant and its terrace directly on the shore of Lake Geneva. Le Safran Restaurant Terrace is now taking reservations!
2013
While performing at the Montreux Jazz Festival, Ty Dolla Sign, the famous American singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and record producer, falls in love with Montreux and decides to shoot his rap music video from our rooftop, overlooking Lake Geneva and the Swiss Alps. On this photo on the rooftop with Stéphane Compagnon.
2016
"We celebrate our 50th birthday – and it's a year of big change! The opening of the Living Room Bar, Purple Fish Lounge, and the Sundeck are just some of our favourite highlights.
We also have a lot of fun this April Fool's Day with The Nautilus by Eurotel Montreux.
2017
We build the Sundeck Million Stars Room in collaboration with Swiss Tourism! For one summer only, guests enjoy this completely transparent room with an unforgettable view of the lake, city, and sky.
2020
MONA drops anchor! We are proud to present our new name, look and feel, and can't wait to see you here!
